Good morning . Here's your Film Buffs heads-up for December 15, 2007

An extra early email for you this week, in the lead-up to our annual end-of-year show, including the poll of your picks of films for 2007. Check the This Week section below for all the details and how you can get voting right now!

Actually, everything's pretty mad around the station at the moment, starting tomorrow morning at the Blue Diamond for the Breakfasters outside broadcast for the final show for 2007 and Tony Wilson's final show ever. If you haven't been to the very exclusive Blue Diamond, it's on the 15th floor at 123 Queen Street in the city. The show kicks off at 6am tomorrow - Friday, December 14 - going through until 9am and we'd all love to see you up there. Then, on Tuesday night - December 18 - it's the Best of the Brat Final Root, live from the Tote, as Holly C takes off for Sydney to take up a position on Triple J's breakfast show. Join us at the Tote - cnr Johnston & Wellington Sts, Collingwood - from 8pm, before the show goes live to air at 10, with Digger and the Pussycats and The Basics playing live, all the regular guests and the top 5 rooting songs of all time. Both these broadcasts are free and everyone's welcome

· Your film must contain the 2008 Sony Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) ‘8”

Wanted: Short Films for St. Kilda - Closes Feb 1 2008
St Kilda Film Festival screens Australian short films in all genres including drama, comedy, documentary, animation and digital media. In 2008 the competition will screen the top 100 short film entries received, and the competition is fierce.
The short film competition awards over $33,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film - the highest cash prize for short film in the country. The Festival also features the SoundKILDA Music Video Competition, Australia's only dedicated competition for music videos.

Doco Filmmakers get your submissions ready - Feb 20-22 2008
MeetMarket is a unique opportunity for Australian documentary filmmakers with fresh ideas and projects in development to meet with potential buyers.
Successful MeetMarket submissions will be presented to the international and Australian acquisitions executives attending AIDC 2008 in Fremantle, Western Australia from 20-22 February.
Documentary filmmakers are invited to submit a 2-minute pitch teaser of their project, along with synopsis and information about the filmmakers. Up to 20 projects will be selected by an international panel to participate in MeetMarket 2008.
The pitch teasers are made available to the acquisitions executives attending the Conference who select the projects/filmmakers they want to meet with.
The MeetMarket team will schedule the one on one meetings to take place in the special MeetMarket room during AIDC.

Angry Productions is calling for entries for the 6th Angry Film Festival!  Are you a filmmaker who is wanting to have their short film screened in front of an appreciative captive audience? Want to see your short up on the big screen? Up to thirteen films will be selected to screen on the short film night in early 2008.
The only criteria is that films must be under 15 minutes. Short films that are story based are looked on more favourably.
